The Future Workforce

Jobs in the 21st century require individuals with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets that will enable them to adapt to flexible workforce needs and to compete for high-wage, high-demand careers. Work-based learning is a critical component of many career pathways frameworks, as a strategy for increasing post-secondary attainment and employment in high-growth, high-demand, high-wage fields for youth, especially those from underserved populations.

Elevate Lane County's Mission

Elevate Lane County will help Lane County meet the very real and immediate challenges of economic development, student achievement, and global competitiveness.

We want to develop our most valuable resource—our people—helping them gain the skills, technical knowledge, academic foundation, and real-world experience they need to prepare themselves and our youth for high-skill, high-demand, high-
wage careers.

Elevate Lane County will increase:

the number of youth who have work learning experiences prior to completing their education

the number of educators with industry experience, informing their classroom curriculum and student learning outcomes; focusing on local, high-demand careers.
